Piper’s Petals – Fall Dahlia Cuttings Policy

Fall 2025 Shipping

All dahlia cuttings are a minimum of six weeks old and have been bloom-confirmed by me, here in my field. I take great care in producing healthy, rooted, and well-established cuttings.

Because these are live plants, and due to the inherent risks of shipping and rehoming, the following terms are strictly enforced.

By purchasing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms listed in this policy. These terms are legally binding and non-negotiable.

Important Notice: Fall Shipped Cuttings Are for Experienced Growers Only

Fall-shipped dahlia cuttings are recommended for experienced and confident growers only.

These cuttings are intended for customers who:

• Have experience growing and maintaining dahlias from cuttings

• Have the proper indoor setup to successfully grow dahlias indoors all winter (grow lights, airflow, humidity control, pest management, etc.)

• Understand the challenges of overwintering live dahlias and are prepared to manage them

If you are new to growing dahlias, unfamiliar with rooting or overwintering cuttings, or do not have a suitable indoor grow space, please do not purchase fall shipped cuttings.

Terms of Sale

Please read carefully before purchasing. If you are not comfortable with any of the conditions listed, do not place an order.

Shipping Policy

• All cuttings will ship via UPS 2nd Day Air only. No exceptions.

• Orders will ship Monday through Wednesday, during October 2025.

• Shipping fees are calculated at checkout and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

• A heat pack will be included with each order during cold-weather months to help protect against freezing.

Once the package is dropped off with UPS, I am no longer responsible for delays, damage, or conditions caused during transit.

I guarantee that all cuttings are healthy, rooted, and pest-free at the time of shipping, supported by internal item tracking and timestamped photos taken prior to and at the time of shipment.

There are no guarantees once the package is in the hands of the carrier.

24-Hour Arrival Window

You have 24 hours from the exact time of delivery (as documented by the shipping carrier) to contact me with any concerns.

This 24-hour window begins the moment UPS marks the order as "delivered" — not when you open the box.

To be eligible for review, you must provide clear photos and written communication within that 24-hour period.
After 24 hours, no complaints will be accepted. No refunds, credits, or replacements will be issued. No exceptions.

Pest Policy

All cuttings are treated biweekly with chemical pesticide dips as part of routine pest management in a controlled indoor grow space.

While plants are pest-free at the time of shipping, there is no guarantee that a pest may not be present or emerge later.

If the potential for pests — even at minimal risk — is a concern for you, please do not purchase.

Powdery Mildew Policy

Sulfur dips are used weekly or biweekly to prevent and control powdery mildew. While mildew is not present at the time of shipping, it is a common and naturally occurring condition in dahlias, especially during transit or in new environments.

If any potential appearance of powdery mildew is unacceptable to you, do not purchase.

Virus and Disease Disclaimer

I am a licensed and inspected grower by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and currently in full compliance.

• Any plant that shows signs of virus or disease is immediately culled.

• Tools and growing supplies are regularly disinfected with bleach.

• However, viruses can be present without visible symptoms, and the only way to verify viral status is through individual lab testing, which is not performed.

If you require plants tested for virus, or if you are not comfortable with this level of risk, do not purchase.

No Refunds or Replacements

Refunds, returns, and replacements will not be issued for any of the following:

• Pests (visible or non-visible)

• Powdery mildew

• Viral or bacterial disease

• Shipping delays or damage

• Temperature stress (heat, cold, etc.)

• Plant decline or death after the 24-hour window

• Issues related to improper overwintering or inexperience with growing cuttings indoors

Final Agreement

By purchasing from Piper’s Petals, you:

• Confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms listed above

• Accept full responsibility for the plants once they have been delivered

• Understand that no guarantees, refunds, or replacements are offered beyond the defined policies

• Confirm that you are an experienced grower capable of properly growing and overwintering cuttings indoors

• Release Piper’s Petals and its owner, Maddie, from all liability beyond the 24-hour post-delivery window

These policies are in place to protect the integrity of my work, support transparency, and maintain fairness for both buyer and seller.
