Dahlia Tuber Policy
Please read carefully before purchasing. If you are not comfortable with any of the conditions listed, do not place an order.
The following terms are strictly enforced.
By purchasing from itsPipersPetals.com, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms listed in this policy. These terms are legally binding and non-negotiable. Shipping carries risks, and all responsibility for weather-related damage is assumed by the customer.
I SELL RUNTS AND UGLY TUBERS.
If that bothers you, please, PLEASSSEEEEE do not order from me. I will not entertain any messages or emails about tuber size or looks.
All tubers that I sell have an eye, an intact neck, and body, and would be tubers that I personally would be happy with. I will not sell anything I wouldn't want to receive myself.
Shipping & Weather
- Orders ship starting late March Monday–Wednesday via USPS or UPS Ground.
- Shipping is a flat rate of $14
- I will combine orders automatically and will refund any excess shipping charges as I go through orders.
- **Combined orders must have the same email. No exceptions, sorry!
- Do not order if your temperatures are below freezing.
- Once the package is dropped off with USPS or UPS, Piper’s Petals is no longer responsible for delays, damage, or conditions caused during transit.
Tubers at Time of Shipping
- All tubers are guaranteed to be healthy and viable with a visible eye that is circled at the time of shipping, supported by internal tracking and timestamped photos taken prior to shipment.
- All tubers have been bloom confirmed during the 2025 growing season, and are true to variety. I am the only one who has touched these plants and tubers and while there is always a chance of possible unintentional human error, I am extremely confident that all tubers are labeled correctly and are being sold as the variety they are listed as. I would NEVER ever intentionally share mislabeled, diseased,or poor quality dahlias. I take the trust you all have put into myself and my business very seriously, and it is extremely important to me that you are happy with your dahlias. I would never intentionally do anyone dirty, that’s a promise.
- There are no guarantees once the package is in the hands of the carrier.
Damage or Issue Claims
- You have 24 hours from the exact time of delivery (as documented by USPS or UPS) to contact Piper’s Petals with any concerns.
- This 24-hour window begins the moment the carrier marks the order as “delivered”, not when you open the package.
- To be eligible for review, you must provide clear photos and written communication within that 24-hour period.
- After 24 hours, no complaints will be accepted.
Virus and Disease Disclaimer
- I am a licensed and inspected grower by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and in full compliance.
- Any tuber that shows signs of virus or disease is immediately culled.
- Tools and growing supplies are regularly disinfected with bleach.
- However, viruses can be present without visible symptoms, and the only way to verify viral status is through individual lab testing, which is not performed.
- If you require tubers tested for virus, or if you are not comfortable with this level of risk, do not purchase.
No Refunds or Replacements
- Refunds, returns, and replacements are not promised and are issued only at the discretion of Piper’s Petals.
- Common reasons that refunds or replacements may not be issued include:
- Viral or bacterial disease
- Shipping/storage issue
- Tuber decline or death after the 24-hour window, improper overwintering, or inexperience with storing tubers
Heat Pack Option
- Add a 48-hour heat pack for $3 each.
- Heat packs help but do not guarantee protection from freezing.
Customer Responsibility
- You must track your package and bring it indoors immediately.
- Piper’s Petals is not liable for cold-weather or transit-related damage.
- All winter-shipped orders are at the customer’s own risk.
Final Agreement
By purchasing from Piper’s Petals, you:
- Confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms listed above
- Accept full responsibility for the tubers once they have been delivered
- Understand that no guarantees, refunds, or replacements are promised beyond the 24-hour window and are at Piper’s Petals’ discretion
- Confirm that you are an experienced grower capable of properly growing and overwintering tubers
- Release Piper’s Petals and its owner, Maddie, from all liability beyond the 24-hour post-delivery window
These policies are in place to protect the integrity of my work, support transparency, and maintain fairness for both buyer and seller.
